The research for this report began a number of years ago in an attempt to find out what God’s Word has to say about divorce and remarriage. Is divorce wrong? Is the adultery in remarriage an act or a state? In what cases are divorce and remarriage permitted? What place do divorced and remarried couples have in the Church? Can the church accept them the same as any other married couple?

(ZO): John the Baptist, one of God’s greatest men (1), lost his head because he told king Herod he could not have his brothers wife. This he told Herod after they were already married. So if John’s proclamation to Herod was according to God’s law (Romans 7:3), do we think Jesus’ death on the cross (grace) would nullify what John told Herod, and make John’s death pointless? Also, why would God put His laws concerning divorce and remarriage into His Word, knowing full well that His people would read them, then totally trash them on the Cross through grace. (2).
And do not commit adultery, nor touch any other man’s wife, nor desire her; but covet that which is your own business.
Whether you are saved or unsaved, it does not matter: God’s law applies to everyone no matter what state you are in.
(1) Jesus expressed the frankest appreciation of John, declaring him to be more than a prophet, and that he was indeed God’s messenger sent to prepare the way for him, Matt. 11:10-19.
(2) Once saved always saved and remarriage before becoming Christians ect.
