I could only be called semi-handsome … in a dim light … at 20 feet … many years ago.
Good looks may not be everything, but they can give one a head start in life. But, paraphrasing Mark Twain, “God must love plain looking (ugly) people as he made so many of us.” And, I’d rather be loved by God than look like Rock Hudson used to look, or how Tom Cruise looks, today.
Still, next life time, I’d like to have a six foot, four inch tall body, with muscular, well-shaped limbs, a fabulous throwing arm, jet-black hair (that later turns to a steel gray), piercing blue eyes, weighing in at a slim 235 pounds, all top off with a kill-her smile. I’m talkin’ tall, dark, and devastating. No more Willie Nelson looks for me, unless I can sing and write music like he can.
If God will give me such looks, I promise to try to win his love, in spite of my gorgeousness. Which reminds me of another good-looking chap, who needs to work over-time to win God’s love: Barack Hussein Obama, once known as Barry Soetero.

On April 23, two patrol cars were ambushed by armed gunman in downtown Ciudad Juarez. In the ensuing firefight, seven policemen were killed as well as a 17-year old boy who was caught in the crossfire. All of the assailants escaped uninjured fleeing the crime-scene in three SUVs. The bold attack was executed in broad daylight in one of the busiest areas of the city. According to the Associated Press:
“Hours after the attack, a painted message directed to top federal police commanders and claiming responsibility for the attack appeared on a wall in downtown Ciudad Juarez. It was apparently signed by La Linea gang, the enforcement arm of the Juarez drug cartel. The Juarez cartel has been locked in a bloody turf battle with the Sinaloa cartel, led by Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.

He goaded them to infiltrate Tea Party ranks and destroy the movement by saying and doing outrageous things. Much is not known about Levin. But his tactics resemble efforts by another saboteur to discredit critics online through disinformation and cyber-attack. That is the state of Israel.
For more than a year, Israel has reeled under unprecedented world criticism for its brutality to the people of Gaza. It has not silenced its critics by beginning humane treatment or admitting its wrongdoing. Troubling new data show there are an average of 950 suicide attempts each month by veterans who are receiving some type of treatment from the Veterans Affairs Department.
Seven percent of the attempts are successful, and 11 percent of those who don’t succeed on the first attempt try again within nine months.

Let me ask readers a question. What’s more important: freedom and its undergirding principles, or the entity meant to protect it? A word of caution: be careful how you answer that question, because the way you answer marks your understanding (or lack thereof) of both freedom and the purpose of government.

Let’s be clear about something. A person who decides to give up his US citizenship is not guilty of disloyalty to America; quite the opposite. He could very well be more loyal to American principles than the regime is willing to tolerate.

She mentions, in her preface, that Nazi propagandists were referring to Germany as ‘ The Heimat ‘ or ‘ Homeland ‘ . Is it a coincidence that the Bush crew used this phrase after 9/11? Hitler’s gang, after the suspicious Reichstag fire, got the German Parliament to pass the Enabling Laws. These laws virtually gave unlimited power to the government, stripping away civil liberties. They disallowed the right to dissent, freedom of assembly, freedom of the press…while legitimizing the arrest of political opponents to the regime. Those deemed enemies of the state were held in custody indefinitely without the right of habeas corpus. Without needing court orders, the government would tap phones and open mail. We Americans, after the suspicious 9/11 attacks, had our own Enabling Laws , called the Patriot Act, that allowed for the same iron fist. Yet, eight years later, where is the mindset of our fellow citizens…. The silent majority? Silent indeed, except for those who support this kind of government. After all, America has been in a period, lasting generations, that Gore Vidal so aptly named Perpetual War. This current aspect of it has been labeled the War On Terror. Perhaps we should tell that to the Afghan and Iraqi civilians who are terrorized, mutilated, and killed by our missiles, bombs and machine guns. And we call ourselves civilized.

The global banking elite are preparing to assault Americans with two huge new tax increases as President Obama contradicts the assurances of White House aides and his own campaign trail promise by asserting that a VAT tax is still on the table, as the IMF outlines a new tax on financial transactions that is being hailed as a blow to the banks yet represents another stealth tax on the people.
“President Barack Obama suggested Wednesday that a new value-added tax on Americans is still on the table, seeming to show more openness to the idea than his aides have expressed in recent days,” reports the Associated Press.
Obama’s signal that he may embrace a European-style VAT tax follows former Fed chairman Paul Volcker’s call for a value-added tax. In response, the U.S. Senate passed a nonbinding “sense of the Senate” resolution labeling any such move, “a massive tax increase that will cripple families on fixed income and only further push back America’s economic recovery.”

Many years ago, I was in the coal-mining business, in West Virginia. It was there that I had an interesting conversation with a grizzled old coal-miner, who had once been trapped deep underground, after a cave-in.
“When I heard the rumblings of that cave-in getting closer to me,” he said, “well … that put me to thinking.”
When suddenly assaulted by an intemperate crisis, most of us are thrown into a state of fear, which inhibits any thinking. But perhaps, the old miner was simply calling the fear he must have felt - “thinking.”

A CONCURRING (BIBLICAL) OPINION FOR SECESSION: By Chuck Baldwin
My son, Tim Baldwin, who is a constitutional attorney, recently engaged my friend, attorney Ed Vieira, Jr., in a spirited and intellectual written debate on the rightness or wrongness of State secession. Vieira took the unionist position that states do not have the constitutional right to secede. Tim took the freedomist position that states have both a constitutional and Natural Law right to secede (a position with which I firmly agree, as most readers know).
